Kendall Farms
Direct
In response to overwhelming
customer feedback, Kendall Farms will no longer supply stock to our southern
retailers. Instead we’re opting to deal direct with the public! Dealing
direct has numerous advantages for our South-East QLD and NSW customers. It
allows us closer contact with our buyers and therefore we’ll be able to
offer a more personalised service. As a major supplier of dwarf fruit and
nut trees, cutting out the middle man means better purchasing power for our
customers, greater all-round control of our market, more competitive pricing
for our stock and ultimately, more satisfied customers! So we’re fixin' up
the trucks to make sure your deliveries arrive in tip top condition.
(Reasonable delivery charges will apply).
Kendall Farms are still
maintaining stock to our QLD regional nurseries and resellers. The
contact details for regional resellers can be accessed here.

Ben Hur
has arrived!

A marvellous new
pomegranate variety!
Ben Hur is a new pomegranate variety and is set to become a absolute
sensation. It has high vitamin and anti-oxidant properties. The fruit is
enormous, exceeding 15 centimetres in diameter and weighing up to 1.2
kilograms. The copiously produced fruit is very sweet and flavoursome.
The branches are so flexible that the weight of the fruit pulls them
down without breaking.
Drought and frost tolerant
and great for containers or espalier
Ben Hur is a small deciduous shrubby tree which can reach three
meters in height. This makes it ideal for container growing. It is
extremely hardy, tolerating frost and drought conditions. Ben Hur is
great for to espaliering against a wall.
Autumn colour and fruit
Ben Hur is highly ornamental with yellow autumn colour and the added
bonus of magnificent red fruit ripening in the autumn. The largest
coloured fruit should be harvested first. Make sure you don’t pick the
fruit prematurely – the longer the fruit stays on the tree, the sweeter
and bigger the fruit will be. Birds don’t seem to attack the fruit due
to its bitter pith, leaving them for you to enjoy.
Easy care and maintenance
Even though Ben Hur is drought tolerant it is important to provide
adequate water when the tree produces its first flush of flowers. This
will ensure you get large fruit. The tree is fairly disease free,
although fruit fly may be a problem in areas which host the pest. Feed
in late winter with fertilizer formulated for deciduous fruit trees.
Apart from shaping the tree early in its life, little pruning is
required.
Ben Hur is available now
from Kendall farms for $33.50 each
